Counterproductive yet cathartic: #painting over unfinished work, #erasing lose ends.... very very cathartic.
If you are visiting Hudson, NY, or just passing by, my paintings are hanging at the Hudson Milliner Art Salon at 415 Warren Street. Open Friday-Sunday 12-6, come say hello! They are up through the holiday season.
Playing janitor in the Hudson Milliner Art Salon late on a Sunday night - love the peace here tonight....
If you’re in Hudson, NY, this #weekend, stop by the #Hudson Milliner #Art Salon at 415 Warren Street from 12-6. I’ll be doing the #Floss all day in front of my #paintings, so you get two shows at once, all absolutely free (unless, of course, you should decide to take home a painting)!
Inspired by Anne Novado it just felt right to get up on a chair and explain the work to my lovely friends neighbors & total strangers. Depth of field, shadow and light and each subject’s fight with gravity. I didn’t feel much gravity standing on that chair in our new art salon....
Join me this Saturday in Hudson to celebrate “AMERICANA, Celebrating Our Checkered Past & Present “ at the Hudson Milliner Art Salon 9/8/2018 from 5-8 PM 415 Warren Street in Hudson NY... Charlotta
“Fine Specimens” is Sold! This piece depicting student athletes of the Hampton Institute in 1912 is near and dear to my heart. I love narrowing it down to depth of field, shadow and light and everyone’s fight with gravity. This team does it as one and each man on their own.
Six year old #me in my #school photo from #Tehran, Iran.

#Gljúfrabúi is a hidden #waterfall translated to: Dweller in the Gorge... I’m very #wet but very grateful to feel so small next to something soooo tall. I love #Iceland!
TODAY: Reality was sentenced this morning to 5 1/4 YEARS prison and 3 years supervised release. Her sentence is meant to punish her for a very serious Crime WHEN ALL SHE DID WAS THE RIGHT THING. Stand With Reality!
8/23/2018 REALITY WILL BE SENTENCED BUT NOT SILENCED - I’m putting in a late night shift to finish a few embellished prints ahead of Reality Winner’s sentencing for her heroic act to save our democracy- may the force be with her!
History is not made by super heroes but by human beings, some of which sacrifice a lot for the greater good: Reality Leigh Winner is a #courageous human being. She is paying a high price right now (potentially 5.25 years) for having the courage to be a whistle blower around election interference. I will be releasing a limited edition of embellished prints highlighting in depth her findings and her situation.
The East Bay Dragon #Motorcycle Club have really have caught my eye. Reading about them made me want to paint them in all their splendor. Must visit Oakland! I just started work on this #painting.
Woke up early today to revisit this #painting. Excited to make it better. These men are #champions and I’ll try to be a champion #painter for them. 📷: @mistergreer
@evil_marie and myself under the new Chez Oskar #banner that we painted. We unfurled it yesterday to be ready for the 20th #anniversary of this beautiful #bistro, which is tonight! What a long strange (and wonderful) trip it’s been! Join us and Josephine in our celebration!
It’s the 20th #anniversary of the opening of my beautiful #restaurant Chez Oskar this week! Come stop by and say hello and help Angelique, Octavio and myself celebrate. The week’s events will culminate on Bastille Day, to the day two decades ago that #Oskar opened its doors in Fort Greene. The staff has become family and the patrons the greatest of friends. Thanks for the wonderful #memories, and may we continue to create #20 years more of wonderful moments that we can treasure in the future.
Researching doing a mural for the Cus D’Amato #gym in Catskill, NY. While there, I met #trainer and former #boxer George Young. He had many great stories to tell about training with Mike Tyson. In this photograph I introduce him to my left #uppercut. After a quick nap, we revived him, and he’ll have another tale to tell.
“Playing With #Scissors”. I completed this #painting for an all woman’s #group show called “Leveling” at the Novado Gallery in Jersey City. This is from an 1936 #FSA photo by Arthur Rothstein during the Great Depression. This is my first round canvas but won’t be my last. I love random objects that suddenly win importance, like these scissors.
